2017 in Lists
I’ve been behind on my blogging game. I have 6 different blogs started in the notes on my phone. Sometimes it feels like if I start sharing the stories and lessons, I’ll never be able to stop. But I have done all of the things God taught me in 2017 a disservice by not sharing more.
2018 has already begun in a whirlwind of squad reunions and time on the field in Cambodia, cancelled flights and hours spent having long conversations in Khmer coffee shops. It feels like there is never enough time to sit, reflect, breathe.
It all starts with a small step. Reflecting and unwrapping 2017 is near the top of my to-do list, but that keeps growing and getting rearranged. So I start with this small step.
As midnight rolled by and 2017 began, I reflected on 2016 and realized that despite having completed my #26for26bucketlist (mostly), I had lost a lot of everyday, normal loves.
I didn’t really read. I didn’t go see movies. I didn’t stop to appreciate the small things. So I started a list and kept it going throughout the year, to keep track of the things that can pass by easily but mean so much to my heart.
So here is my 2017 in lists, which will maybe one day lead to my 2017 unwrapped – just not today.
